Open Lab
Open Lab is a completely ‘open’ workspace conceived to encourage student autonomy, offering free-access workstations where practical activities and collaborative design projects can be performed.
The space is designed to be used even when the Department's three instrumental Laboratories are closed or busy, without the direct support of the specialised technicians who supervise and support the Laboratories' activities. Ideally suited for those who wish to develop and create light-weight, low-impact prototypes in complete autonomy, the Open Lab encourages creativity and interaction between students from different fields of study. Open Lab lets students explore different tools, techniques and design approaches in total autonomy and realise products ranging from fashion to traditional prototyping, from craftsmanship to digital technology.
Access
Access is based on the opening hours of the Campus (8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday to Saturday) and fruition is based on a free occupancy system, with no need for reservations and guaranteeing maximum flexibility for those who wish to use the space as and when needed.
