Giancarlo Iliprandi: two exhibitions at the ADI Design Museum and the Nuages Gallery pay tribute to the Italian creative artist's 100th anniversary

To celebrate the centenary of Giancarlo Iliprandi's birth, the Nuages Gallery and the ADI Design Museum are holding two exhibitions in honour of one of the leading figures of Italian design in the second half of the 20th century.

From Wednesday 18 June until Saturday 26 July 2025, 40 watercolours by Giancarlo Iliprandi on his travels in the Sahara and Namibia will be on display at the Nuages Gallery.

Giancarlo Iliprandi. Design per comunicare
From 28 June to 28 September 2025, the ADI Design Museum will host an exhibition dedicated to Giancarlo Iliprandi, a central figure for the Association for Industrial Design (ADI), of which he was president from 1998 to 2001. The exhibition highlights Iliprandi's contribution in the fields of design, graphics and photography, underlining his fundamental role in the promotion of Italian design culture.
The exhibition, promoted by the Archivio del Moderno - Università della Svizzera italiana and by the Giancarlo Iliprandi Association and curated by Monica Fumagalli Iliprandi and Giovanni Baule, with set-up designed by Lissoni&Partners, offers an in-depth account of the Milanese designer's research, investigating his design universe, which is rich, cultured and still topical.
Through materials from historical archives and private collections, the exhibition highlights the graphic designer's experimental and interdisciplinary approach, capable of integrating form, function and communication.
