Interdipendenze. Visioni per l'abitare

Exhibition

2 July 2025, 1:00 pm, Ground Floor, Building B2, Durando Campus

How can fictional scenarios guide us in critically exploring alternative ways of inhabiting the city of Milan, through spatial devices that are possible (and sometimes seemingly impossible), and within futures marked by potential collapses and unprecedented interdependencies?

Starting from paradoxical and fictional dystopian scenarios, the first-year students of the Laboratorio di Elementi Visivi del Progetto (BSc in Interior Design) imagined radically alternative modes of cohabitation, no longer rooted in consumption, efficiency, or competition, but rather in collaboration, interdependence, and multi-species experimentation. These scenarios do not aim to depict plausible or probable futures; instead, they serve as critical abstractions, tools to interrogate the present through impossible, fictional worlds.

Through the lens of speculative placemaking, the exhibited projects propose twelve design micro-worlds as narrative spaces, imagining devices, materials, and architectures to re-inhabit the city of Milan.

Opening: Wednesday 2 July, 1 pm

The exhibition will be open until 9 July
