MORE THAN HUMANS- THE FUTURE IS MULTISPECIES. Caring for one another, across species and intelligences

Exhibition

June 10, 2025, 10 am - 6 pm (Panel at 6 pm), at Spazio EDME, floor -1, building B2, Campus Durando, Politecnico di Milano.

Rising temperatures, collapsing ecosystems, and mass extinctions are redefining life on our planet. In this context, a new urgency is emerging in the field of design: What if adaptation were not exclusively human but multispecies?

With this idea in mind, the exhibition More Than Humans — The Future is Multispecies was created. It presents three significant projects developed by 55 students in the Master's program in Digital and Interaction Design at Politecnico di Milano. The program was promoted by the multispecies collective Design Intelligences, led by professors Elisa Giaccardi and Francesco Vergani, and collaborated on by Alessandro Masserdotti (Dotdotdot).

Each installation offers a glimpse into a future in which artificial intelligence is an active agent in the co-evolution of ecosystems, collaborating with plant, microbial, animal, and material environments to regenerate, adapt, and transform.
