Trustworthy AI by design: Insights from the AI, Big Data and Democracy Taskforce

The “Trustworthy AI by Design” webinar will present key research from the AI, Big Data, and Democracy Taskforce, a collaborative initiative bringing together four EU-funded projects: AI4Gov, KT4D, ITHACA, and ORBIS. These projects are aligned with the European Commission’s vision of fostering inclusive, innovative, and reflective societies. By focusing on the intersection of artificial intelligence, big data, democracy, and civic participation, the taskforce addresses the challenges posed by AI and big data to democratic processes.

The presentations will highlight how these projects are working in synergy to develop tools that enable evidence-based decision-making, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups and diverse cultural contexts. The aim is to ensure that policymakers and citizens alike are equipped with the advanced technologies needed to safeguard democracy and enhance civic participation.
