Wood Design. From model to prototype

Exhibition

The image depicts the interior of a laboratory or exhibition space where various wooden furniture prototypes and scale models are displayed, created for the "Wood Design: dal modello al prototipo" project. The pieces, which include stools, small structures, and experimental joints, are arranged on workbenches and platforms within an industrial setting with white walls and technical flooring; an informative panel on the left illustrates the various stages of the creative process.

Open until 14 March 2025, Building B2, Campus Durando, Via Durando 10, Milan

Fourteen projects from the Wood Design AA 2024/2025 course, a 3rd year elective at the School of Design that explores wood as a versatile and constantly evolving material through products and furniture.
The aim of the exhibition is to share the teaching path taken, which includes the development of models, full-scale testing and the prototyping of projects.

A design and construction process that allows students, whether their work is successful or not, to gain practical experience and to address critical issues: statics, joints, resistance, reproducibility.

The exhibition is curated by Mariano Chernicoff, Vladislav Ganzen and Livio Riceputi.
