The GRACE_lab project has been developed since 2018, through the collaboration between GENERA Onlus and the Department of Design of Politecnico di Milano.

GRACE_lab was born with the aim of designing and testing environments and tools for Therapeutic Habitats for the treatment of Alzheimer's Syndrome, thanks to the active presence of an interdisciplinary team composed of researchers, designers, operators and caregivers. Within the research lab, prototypes of products, environmental solutions and services are developed and created, and then tested in Grace's environments. The team oversees and supervises the work of several undergraduate students developing Theses, the results of which are implemented and applied within Grace's environments.

"Alzheimer's is one of the great challenges we have to face, if we want in the future a society able to welcome within it the frail, with respect and dignity. In recent years we have seen how design can be a valuable enabling agent in this area, contributing to greater effectiveness of Non-pharmacological Therapies. This result is the outcome of the work of the LABIRINT team and GENERA Onlus, with which we are tackling projects that go beyond the borders and limits of the social welfare sector, with a view to broad social integration".
Prof. Alessandro Biamonti

In 2019 GRACE_lab receives the Honorable Mention Compasso d'Oro.
